The METRO Act (PA 48 of 2002) generally governs the permitting process for access to public road rights-of-way in cities, townships and villages.
In 2018, changes were made to the law that governs access to public road rights-of-way in jurisdictions controlled by counties and county road commissions. The following resources pertain to the new law.
