Scholarship Foundation

Overwhelming evidence shows the need for and merit of privately supported scholarships.  The Telecommunications Association of Michigan recognizes this and has established the Telecommunications Association of Michigan Foundation, Inc. to fill the need. The nonprofit Foundation promotes educational and scientific advancement by helping individuals obtain instruction or training to improve and develop their capabilities.

Sponsorship:

Business firms, organizations and individuals are invited to support the scholarship program to financially aid education of our state\'s talented young people.

Why A Scholarship?

• To elevate the technical and business competence of young people by providing them with assistance to acquire meaningful and marketable skills.
  
  
• To provide educational incentive to deserving students who will ultimately provide leadership for the professions, business, education and public service.

3 Scholarships for students of Michigan Institutions

• Immediate family member of a Michigan-based telephone company employee.
  
• Member of a Michigan high school graduating class, or enrolled in an accredited college or university. 
  
• College seniors are not eligible.

1 Scholarship for Students of Non-Michigan Institution

• Member of a non-Michigan high school or enrolled in an accredited, degree granting, non-Michigan college or university.  
  
• College seniors are not eligible.
  
• When there are no applicants for the non-Michigan institution scholarship the scholarship will be awarded as a fourth scholarship to a student of a Michigan Institution.

 Eligibility for Category II - IV Scholarship

• Any student in a graduating class of a high school or any student now enrolled in an accredited, degree granting college or university, except for college seniors, is eligible for a scholarship under this category. 
  
• Scholarship eligibility under this category shall be limited to immediate family members of Category II, Category III and Category IV member company employees.

Academic excellence is taken into consideration but is not paramount to receiving one of the scholarships. The primary considerations are: first, the student has expressed a sincere desire to continue his or her education; and second, has demonstrated the ability.
